What is a Content Management System?

A content management system or CMS is a software that facilitates creating, editing, organizing, and publishing content. WordPress is an example of Content Management System, that allows you to create and publish your content on the web. Although it is mostly used for blogs, but it can be used for many other applications such as eCommerce, Portfolio, Real State and others. It's functionality can be extended with plugins. It can be used to manage content with in organization, or just for one person.
